Liliana Aracil.
Mezzosoprano singer and vocal coach Liliana Aracil of Argentinian origin initiated her musical studies at the Instituto Superior of the Colón Theatre of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1982 she settled in New York where she graduated from the Mannes School of Music. She studied vocal technique with Marian Thompson, Joanna Levy, y Kenneth Newbern, maestros of the Metropolitan Opera House. She developed a German, French, and English repertory. All along her career Liliana has investigated the voice phenomenon which she teaches from a wholistic point of view. In 1996 she created in Brussels the programme Discover your voice, discover yourself. She studied the techniques of Alexander and Polarity Therapy. She also received guidance from John Beaulieu’s Biosonic, Stephen Chun-Tao Cheng’s The Tao of the Voice, and Arden Wilken’s Autophonetics, among others. Liliana is a certified teacher of Speech Level Singing, a revolutionary technique created by world-renowned expert Seth Riggs, who has trained numerous prestigious singers. Even after so many years of investigation in the field of voice, Liliana still travels to the U.S. to add to her knowledge, studying under Jeffrey Skousson at the Institute for Vocal Advancement, from which she has obtained a diploma certifying her as Advanced Level instructor. Since her arrival in Spain, Liliana has been demonstrating the technique known as the Speaking Voice, to teachers, journalists, and public speakers, enabling them to develop and protect their principal tool: the voice. At the moment Liliana directs the Escuela de Voz Liliana Aracil, which is based in Seville, and frequently travels to Madrid where she trains singers from different specialities such as pop, Flamenco, musical theatre, etc…. Liliana is a regular member of the teaching staff of the Fundación Cristina Heeren, where she instructs the singing students in vocal technique according to the Institute for Vocal Advancement method.
