Rosi Navarro, who was born in Málaga in 1981, obtained degrees in both cante and guitar from the Professional Music Conservatory “Cristóbal de Morales” in Seville, after which, having won the Malagueña style singing contest organised by the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco, she was awarded a scholarship that enabled to study under an outstanding group of teachers including Naranjito de Triana, Calixto Sánchez, José el de la Tomasa, Esperanza Fernández, and Manolo Soler. Further on into her studies Rosi became accompaniment singer in the dance classes at the school. Rosi’s expertise and versatility led her to win the first prize in the speciality of the southern styles of Andalusia at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas. She has performed as a solo vocal artist as well as accompaniment singer to numerous performers on many stages of the world. Since 2009 Rosi Navarro has been teaching Basic Flamenco Codes as well as vocal Accompaniment to dance, activities which she has combined with that of working, since 2017, as accompaniment singer at the Professional Dance Conservatory “Antonio Ruiz Soler” in Seville.
